Report the importing of a powerful laser, laser pointer or IPL device
Imports of powerful lasers, laser pointers and IPL devices need to be reported to the Icelandic Radiation Safety Authority. Anyone importing such devices shall notify the import to the Icelandic Radiation Safety Authority before it takes place.
Powerful lasers and laser pointers shall comply with the ÍST EN 60825-1:2014 (refer to regulation/Law). Every device shall be CE marked as well as have labels regarding classification and danger in use.
The Icelandic Radiation Safety Authority may seek information from other public authorities, such as the Director of Customs, on the import of powerful lasers, laser pointers and IPL devices.
