The pamphlet Facts about HIV and AIDS is available in five languages in addition to Icelandic: English, Polish, Russian, Serbo-Kroatian, and Thai.

The printed versions of the pamphlets are available at the Directorate of Health, Austurströnd 5, Seltjarnarnes, tel. 510 1900, e-mail: mottaka@landlaeknir.is.   

They can also be obtained at the Intercultural Center in Reykjavik,  the Multicultural and Information Centre in Ísafjörður and the Intercultural Centre in Akureyri.

Please note: Address information in the pamphlet Facts about HIV and AIDS on places where you can be tested for antibodies has been changed in some instances.

At present these places are:

  • Health care centres in Iceland

  • A-1, Department for skin disease and sexually transmittted diseases, Landspitali (LSH) Fossvogur, 108 Reykjavík, tel: 5436050. Opening hours: 8:15–15:45 (by appointment).
  • A-3. Outpatient ward for infectious diseases, Landspitali (LSH) Fossvogur, 108 Reykjavik, tel: 5436040. Opening hours: 8:00–16:00 (by appointment).

  • The Central GPs’ On-call Service, Smáratorg 1, 200 Kópavogur, tel: 1770. Opening hours: 17:00– 23:30 on weekdays; 9:00–23:30 on weekends and public holidays.
